Vanguard Secondary School is a Langley School District school at 3825 244 Street, about ten minutes up the road from us. We have supported its events and learning experiences for several years.
Earlier this year the school's principal, Mike Palichuk, left a review of the store. We are quoting it in full because it is his description of the relationship rather than ours:
"The Aldergrove Mark's has been an excellent community partner to our secondary school, Vanguard Secondary School. They have kindly and generously supported our events and learning experiences. Our community has experienced excellent service filled with compassion and care, and excellent products for several years. We love everything about this Mark's store and we support it both professionally and personally. It is a great place to have in our community!"

Why we post this
Partly because it is nice to read. Mostly because schools, teams and community groups often do not realise that the local store is a place to ask. Sponsorship, gear for an event, apparel for a program: those conversations happen at the counter, not through a form somewhere.
We are an independently owned and operated Mark's, so decisions about supporting something local get made here rather than sent up the chain. That is the whole advantage, and it only works if people know to ask.
